Introduction
The purpose of the Limpopo Traffic Police Master plan is to align the Transport Operational Plan of
the Host City and the Provincial Transport Operational Plan into one operational plan for Traffic Police
Officers to execute.
At least 340 traffic police officers will do operational duties in the host city. These officers will focus on
Park and Ride facilities, road blocks, road closures, point duty, escort of identified dignitaries, parking
management and visible policing. Officers from District offices will do visible policing on roads
leading to the Host City.
More than 150 officers will conduct duties at Public Viewing areas and will

DETAILS SUSPENDED OFFICIALS AND PROCEDURES TO BE UNDERTAKEN
The full names of the Senior Manager and Manager that were suspended on 14 July 2010 are:
Mr. Botsi Mohale Facilities: Head Office and Mr Nyiko Tinghitsi.
The procedures to be undertaken by the Department of Roads and Transport Limpopo are as follows:
• An investigation will be conducted into the allegations that have been levelled against the suspended officials.
• Once the inquisitions have been concluded there will be disciplinary hearings will be constituted for the officials concerned.

The Department of Roads and Transport has taken a decision to suspend two senior officials, namely Mr. Botsi Mohale, Senior Manager: Facilities: Head Office and Mr Nyiko Tinghitsi, Manager: Roads Maintenance: Vhembe District Office, following allegations that have since been brought to its attention. This decision is in keeping with the commitment by government to ensure that actions of its officials are beyond reproach and enhance the highest levels of professional ethics.
